Nursery Dreams

The black she cat opened her eyes groggily. Her tiny body shook as she stretched her paws as far out as she could reach. It was morning and shafts of sunlight wove their way through the
tangles of branches and ferns that formed the nursery walls.
She sat up as tall as she could and looked around eagerly. Her eyes settled on her brother who was splayed on his back, his paws in the air as he slept.
This would be a great day in the nursery!

"Roar! I'm gonna get you Mr. Badger!" The brown and white kit yelled out. Right now, he was by the ancient place his grandmother told him about, the Snakerocks. He was currently running after a humongous badger. Just wait till I get my claws on him, he thinks. Just as he's about to jump onto the intruder, a loud yowl wakes him up.
"Snakekit! Wake up!" His mother, Nightleaf yelled. Snakekit opened his eyes and found he was on his back with his claws unsheathed... and in his mothers leg.
"Sorry mama. I didn't mean to," He said in his young squeaky voice. He sat up and stretched and looked over at his sister. He decided to continue his dreams.
Snakekit jumped up into the air and landed onto Birdkit, softly though. He knew how delicate his sister was, so he also had his claws sheathed.
"Come on, Sis! Fight me!" He yelled out with a laugh at the end.

Bird kit squealed when her brother pounced on her.
"Okay, fine!" She shouted as she wriggled around. "But this time I get to be the Lion Clan leader and you can be the old badger!" She finished as she turned out from under him and growled. But the growl was squeaky.
She pounced on Snakekit.

Snakekit was more than ready when the 'Lionclan Leader' pounced onto him. He swiftly moved out of the way, earning an oof! from Birdkit when she landed. Not letting her recover from her failed attack, the brown kit ran toward his sister with sheathed claws saying random badger words.
"Mwahahaha!" He yelled out.

Birdkit had almost gotten back up when her brother landed on her. He was very big compared to her and she was sure from above no one would be able to see her at all under him.
All the Clan cats thought she was going to die at birth. She was very, very tiny. She was frail and skinny. She wouldn't eat. The medicine cat had saved her for a while.
But she was still small. She heard cats talking about her. Talking about how she was going to die.
She wasn't going to die!
She thrust with all her might and pushed Snakekit off. If only he didn't let her win. But she knew he had gone easy on her and had purposefully let her kick him off.

The brown and white kit was thrown off his sister by her legs, and she seemed to be a bit aggressive. Snakekit sighed as he sat next to Birdkit and licked her left ear with brotherly affection.
"You alright?" He mewed.

She sat up and flicked her ear away from her brother.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she said, "except for the fact that I suffocated in your long fur!"
She scampered off to tackle her brother again. She tried to forget how small she was. She tried to forget how weak she was. She tried to forget how everyone said she would die. She tried.

As Snakekit was blown off his feet, he knew he'd somehow pissed his sister off. With a small sound he got up again and saw his sister coming at him with full speed. Just because she was little didn't mean she wasn't fast.
The young tom tried to move out of her line of direction but was too slow. His sister had gotten him onto the ground and was now atop of him.

"How's that for the Lionclan leader?" she asked teasingly.
She still had her claws sheathed but at least she proved that she could do something!

Three words swarmed her head. But they were enveloped in an even larger swarm of doubt.

Snakekit softly half chuckled, half giggled- he was still a kit after all. "I'd say more like a Leapardclan leader, but whatever helps you sleep at night," He quickly stuck out his tounge before seeing someone enter the den. It was a large brown tom Snakekit had come to loathe. Mossstorm.

Ooc: Turning out a bit like Killer, are we ;)? Lol anyway, Smoke is- well was because I pushed her face away- looking over my shoulder and was wondering why you hadn't replied to her yet xD We'll be switching accounts so were both online, but on only 1 account.

Birdkit watched the brown tom stalk in.
He was so annoying! Always coming in here, and bugging them. Stopping their play to talk to their mother. He was their father, but he was so rude! Why couldn't their mother have liked some other tom?
As he stalked past her she hissed a warning.

Snakekit gave a dirty look to Mossstorm. He was the type of cat everyone was great and courageous when he was really a jerk to his own kits.
Sometimes Snakekit didn't think Mossstorm was his real father despite how similar they looked.
"Come on Birdkit. Lets go play with the apprentices," he said, flicking his tail on his sister's shoulder.

"Yeah, let's go!" she squealed as she reared on her back legs.
They darted out of the den and found some apprentices.
"Let's stalk them!" she said excitedly.
They started creeping up on the three apprentices. The apprentices were practicing battle moves.
As they crept closer Birdkit imagined herself as older. Birdstar; fearless leader of Thunderclan! And there were some mean rouge cats who had been stealing prey. And every kit knows what a leader does to prey stealing rouges!

Snakekit started to go into a silent crouch just like his sister. He remembered when they were only 2 moons old she had said she wanted to be called Birdstar when they were play-fighting. Snakekit agreed as long as he was called Snakestar. Birdkit was make-believe leader of Thunderclan, and he was make-believe leader of Windclan. They both still had a strong friendship between the 2 clans so it made sense.
They pounced on the 3 apprentices after Snakekit and Birdkit yelled, "Attack!"

OOC- Sorry I kinda made something up. I just thought it'd add on more 'spice' to our kits

"Snakestar! Look at these smelly rouges trying to steal our prey!" She shouted.
The apprentices were fighting back gently. After all Birdstar and Snakestar weren't the best fighters just yet.

Snakekit easily noticed how easy the 3 apprentices were on them and decided to take it up a notch by unsheathing his claws. He was known for his love of danger so it didn't surprise the 3 cats very much, and he yelled "This is the forests' prey, Rouges!"
